| NEW DELHI, JUNE 7:
The Supreme Court will take up the applications of both the Election Commission and the Centre seeking vacation of its interim order staying Rajya Sabha poll process on Wednesday.
After a two-hour wait, senior counsel Gopal Subrahmanyam, appearing for the Centre, reportedly called on CJI R.C. Lahoti and pleaded for taking up the applications. The registry is then said to have listed the applications for hearing by a vacation bench on Wednesday.
The apex court on Friday had stayed the poll process to fill 65 vacancies to the Rajya Sabha on a petition by journalist Kuldeep Nayar against the doing away with the domicile requirement and the open ballot.
