Beware of corrupt DMK rule, Jaya tells voters

Pondicherry: Charging the DMK with corrupt practices during its erstwhile rule in the Union Territory, AIADMK General secretary, J.Jayalalitha appealed to the voters to be wary of the corruption by DMK and elect the AIADMK to power for opening a new chapter of governance in Pondicherry.

Jayalalita who addressed a gathering at Anna Thidal here, on her way to Tindivanam from Cuddalore, appealed to the people to elect the AIADMK-led alliance to power and assured the Union Territory of a stable and corruption-free government.

Accusing the earlier DMK regime of land and house grabbing, corrupt practices in purchases in AFT, Electricity, Pondicherry Transport and Tourism Development Corporation, issue of licence to industries, she said that people should take a lesson from the past governance of the DMK and elect the AIADMK in office. She assured that the AIADMK-PMK government would provide all round development of the Union Territory.

Economic reforms, regulation of the Public Distribution System (PDS), free port, making the Pondicherry Airport operational would be some of the items prime on the AIADMK agenda if voted to power, she said. Not only that molasses would be utilised to generate power through which employment opportunities would be created for youths.

With proper representation to the Centre, Jayalalitha said that the AIADMK-PMK coalition government would strive to get more administrative powers for Pondicherry so that certain decisions can be taken without getting the approval from Union Home Ministry.

She also introduced the candidates of AIADMK and its only ally the PMK.
