NDA will give stable govt, says BJP

Pondicherry: The NDA will give a stable government in Pondicherry, said L.Ganesan, general secretary of Tamil Nadu unit of BJP.Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that state governments should be elected in a way that it has coordial relations with the Centre and the election of NDA government in both Pondicherry and Tamilnadu would ensure all round development.

Ganesan accused both the AIADMK and Congress of lack of coordination amongst the allies. He said that when the leaders of various of NDA participated in NDA meetings, the AIADMK General Secretary, Jayalalitha and AICC president, Sonia Gandhi avoided sharing the same platform because of separate alliances in Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu. He questioned the capacity of the alliance in ensuring a stable government when even before the elections they were projecting a divided picture.

Ganesan disputed the claim of PMK founder leader, Dr S.Ramadoss and said that the PMK was a casteist outfit. He said that BJP was not against members of any community becoming Chief Minister, but projecting a particular caste even before the electoral verdict itself proves that PMK is caste-oriented.

"Jayalalitha cannot become the Chief minister since she cannot be elected as an MLA. Even if her party nominates her as a Chief Minister, she will again not be allowed to contest the polls within six months. In such circumstances, the governor may not allow her to become Chief minister as a non-member,'' he said.

Union Home Minister L.K Advani would be arriving here on May 7 and would address a public meeting in Uppalam.
