| Greece central defender Michalis Kapsis is doubtful for Sunday's Euro 2004 final against Portugal after abruptly leaving his team's final practice session with a pain in his knee, a team official said on Saturday.
Kapsis, a first-choice defender for coach Otto Rehhagel, has so far played in every game, forming a formidable partnership at the back with fellow defender Trainanos Dellas.
"He stopped his practice because of some pain in the knee," the official told Reuters at the Luz stadium, site of the final. "This makes him doubtful for the final."
Striker Demis Nikolaidis, not a first choice, will not be included in the squad for the final after missing Saturday's training due to a back injury.
"Nikolaidis is out for sure," the official said. "He did not train today and he is not at the disposal of the coach." |
