Paradox of low inflation
After peaking in 1994-95, inflation has moderated. Measured by the rise in the all commodities wholesale price index, on a point to point basis, inflation was 7.3% in 1996-97, up from 5% in the previous year, but way below 10.4% touched in 1994-95.
