Lloyds Housing venture with Hong Kong firm

MUMBAI, May 7: Lloyds Housing Finance, an affiliate of Lloyds Finance, has
entered into a joint venture with Brooke Hiller Parker Property Services of
Hong Kong for real estate consultancy services.
Lloyds Housing will hold a 51 per cent stake in the new company, Lloyd
Brooke Hiller Parker Property Services, with the balance taken up by the
foreign partner.
As chartered surveyors and international property consultants, Brooke Hiller
Parker will cater to consultancy, technical know how and quality
management.
Senior partner of the company, Nicholas Brooke, said India was an
interesting market though slightly unorganised. "We decided to team up with
Lloyds Housing as they have a good reputation and network which will help us
establish ourselves here."
The new company will advice international clients on property business and
corporates in India. It will carry out research and help them understand the
"ins and outs" of the real estate sector in India.
"We will strive to adopt a professional and comprehensive approach to the
property-related services in India," said A V Goel, director, Lloyds Brooke
Hiller Parker Property Services.
Brooke Hillier have a major presence in China, Hong Kong, Japan and
Korea.Goel believes the property market has developed in an unorganised
manner. This is due to a dearth of professional services, he says. The
venture will offer services like development consultancy, research, market
survey, feasibilities price and yield analysis, valuation for mortgage,
management, investment advisory services and other property related
matters.
"We will provide clients with relevant information that will help them
identify the right kind of projects," Goel said.
