Blue Skies, UK firm tie up

MUMBAI, May 9: Blue Skies India, one of the largest seafreight and airfreight providers, has teamed up with MSAS Cargo International of the UK to form a new company, MSAS Blue Skies. Chairman and managing director of Blue Star SK Motha said the venture would provide a high level of value-added service. It will have its own systems team developing individual client-based software to simplify logistics management. The company will provide customary consultancy services to multinationals for tariff, tax and licence requirements of project machinery and re-export. It will also provide logistics services such as arranging for bonded and duty-paid warehousing and providing project cargo management by air, road and rail, a release said. The company has targeted sales of Rs 200 crore during the first year of operations and Rs 500 crore in the next three years. "There is great potential in India as it is one of the fastest growing economies," MSAS deputy chief executive Edward Hope said. The company says it will have the latest communications systems like the MSAS 21, which will integrate it to the MSAS worldwide computer operations.
