Kleinwort Benson acquires 75% in Ind Global Shares

[Details] Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, a part of the Dresdner Bank group, has acquired a 75% stake in the Mumbai-based Ind Global Shares & Securities Ltd, promoted by Ind Global Financial Trust Ltd. With the change in ownership, Christopher Barrow has taken over as managing director of the firm, which has been rechristened Dresdner Kleinwort Benson Securities (India) Ltd.

Philips India to unpack slew of new products

[Details] Philips India, the consumer electronics and lightings giant, is planning a posse of new products aimed at every segment of the market. It has already begun changing its product profile to include multimedia colour televisions and high-end compact disc (CD) players but has deferred plans for its Rs 300-crore glass and lamps manufacturing factory.

Nestle's Rs 50-cr debt paper to carry 14.5% coupon

[Details] Multinational food giant Nestle has entered the debt market with a Rs 50 crore issue carrying a coupon of 14.50%, 181 basis point higher than the coupon offered by the five-year government paper in the last auction. The triple-A (AAA) rated company is placing a five-year paper with no call and put option.
