MUMBAI, May 22: A two-day seminar has been organised in Mumbai on stock exchanges and global technology solutions for the Indian securities industry. Both these seminars will be held simultaneously on May 27 and 28. The second annual Stock Exchange Summit, 1997 and the Global Technology Solutions for the Indian Securities Industry, 1997, has been sponsored jointly by the National and Mumbai stock exchanges and co-sponsored by Deutsche Bank and Price Waterhouse under the USAID's Financial Institutions Reform and Expansion (FIRE) project. Hosted by Invest India Foundation, the summit will be anchored by Ajay Shah, of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research. ``Indian stock exchanges face unique demands by the rapidly changing business environment which is governed by competitive pressures, regulatory requirements, technology advancements, market trends, as well as by the expectations and operations of issuers, market participants and investors,'' said a background paper issued by Invest India Foundation.
