RK Swamy bags SCI account

n The Shipping Corporation of India has selected ad agency, RK Swamy/BBDO, for its image building exercise. The formal finalisation was made on Friday and RK Swamy will begin work in right earnest shortly. There were 20 agencies which were vying for this assignment and six made it to the last round. The list was impressive what with names like Rediffusion, Lintas, Ulka, Ogilvy & Mather, Percept and Clea in the race. Sources say SCI has earmarked a budget of Rs 2 crore for the effort. In a related development, public relations agency, Genesis PR has bagged the Volvo account. Genesis, incidentally, handles the Daewoo Motors account too and observers wonder if its exactly ethical to handle two auto companies' accounts. Genesis PR argues that Volvo makes trucks and Daewoo Motors cars, so there is no conflicting interest.
