Chennai, June 7: Biona, the natural pharmaceutical products division of Biological E Limited, is now tapping the northern parts of the country. This Hyderabad-based company has already launched its products in the southern and western regions of India.

"We will be launching our products in the northern parts by July end and hopefully in the eastern region by the year end," S Ramachandran, in-chrage of the division, told.

The division presently has five products in its kitty. Remembre is a memory enhancer, Smooths for relieving constipation, X-Pain a pain reliever, Dr Keffs for cough and Young & Fit a restorative for body and mind. "All the ingredients used in these formulations are natural," Ramachandran told.

The division is planning to launch various other products in the near future, which may not be natural medicines. An anti-oxidant and an antacid are in the pipeline. In beauty segment, Biona will be shortly introducing hair care products like herbal hair wash, hair dye and hair oil. Plans are afoot to enter into the field of baby care and skin care also.

As regards international market, Ramachandran told that samples have already been sent to various countries. He is confident of getting orders from Canada shortly.

Biological E is a Rs 100 crore company. It has a full fledged research and development set up in four segments namely synthetic formulations, herbals, chemicals and biologicals.
