Kerala transport corporation income up

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, June 23: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has recorded an increase of Rs 17 lakh in income during the current year compared to previous year. The revenue collection of the corporation was Rs 1,02,82,442 on June 6, 1997 as against 85,82,218 in the last year. The operating revenue of the corporation had increased in recent years, according to a study by Bureau of Public Enterprises. It increased to Rs 30,952 lakh and the total income touched Rs 31,909 lakh in 1995-96. The corporation suffered a net loss during 1995-96 to the tune of Rs 18.69 crore while it made a profit of Rs 8.424 crore during the previous year. the average daily income per kilometre is Rs 1,069 which shows an increase of Rs 108 over the previous year.
