A F Ferguson & Co is overseeing the restructuring of Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd. The firm has been appointed about a month ago and its recommendations are expected in September.Hudco finance director S Sundresan said the consulting agency has been appointedto help in the decentralisation of Hudco's activities. It will also look into the accountingsystems."It is most likely that the sanction limits for all the regional and zonal offices will be increased. This will also be done for the finance director and chairman cum managing director," he said.Moreover four zonal offices of Hudco will be created at Chennai (south), Calcutta (east), Mumbai (west) and Delhi (north).

The Chennai has already been set up.More powers will be given to the regional offices and the four zonal will help in propagating the schemes of Hudco and overseeing the activities of the regional offices.Ferguson will help in connecting the regional offices of Hudco with the local area network (LAN) of its Delhi headquarters, which is fully computerised.The agency will also work out ways to help all the regional offices of Hudco to function as profit centres.
