Torrent sets Rs 10,000 cr turnover target by 2000

Chairman of Rs 1,100-crore Torrent Group U N Mehta, who quit the job of a medical representative in 1958 bearing a personal debt of Rs 10,000, today aims at taking his group's turnover to Rs 10,000 crore by 2000.

Econ Pollution ties up with Danish firm

The Denmark-based Chemcontrol A/S, a global environmental engineering company, is set to begin operations in the country. The firm will form a joint venture with the Mumbai-based Econ Pollution Control in which Danish financial institution IFU may also make equity investments.

Marvel Vinyls to set up export oriented unit

Marvel Vinyls Ltd has struck an agreement with Korea General Plastic Ind Co, whereby the foreign company will be acquiring equity in the joint venture by relocating its existing plant in South Korea to set up an export oriented unit (EOU) for the manufacture of poly vinyl chloride (PVC) sheets and tiles here.
