MTNL seeks freedom to fix tariffs

The public sector giant Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has sought freedom to decide on tariffs as part of its efforts to compete with the multinationals entering basic telecom services in India.Freedom to fix tariff is essential to withstand the foreign competition.
