Microland keen on switch to services firm

BANGALORE, July 7: The Rs 157-crore Microland has embarked on a strategic shift to becoming a services company from a networking firm. Announcing this here on Monday, chairman and managing director Pradeep Kar said Microland would focus on newer segments based on the assessment of need and value requirements. The company has also decided to appoint Jawahar Bekay as its new chief executive officer. The company's new thrust is to be a leading IT services company.

The company's focus will be through its four main strategic groups. Its service will include IT consulting, IT deployment, systems management and support and customer training.
