Pantene to nourish more


Indage (India), pioneers in classic wine, has launched Vin Ballet. The brew has been made on the lines of the French tradition of making Beaujolais wines. Manufactured in the state-of-the-art computer controlled winery, it is available in medium dry form.

A 750 ml bottle costs Rs 750. The wine is made from hand picked grapes Ugni Blanc & Thompson Seedless for the white and Pinot Noir & Bangalore Purple for the red. The grapes are crushed before it is allowed to mature.

BPL launches CM-DX 1000: BPL Mobile has introduced the new Sony CM-DX 1000. The slick Sony model is offering up to 10 hours of talk time and 70 hours of stand-by time. The RS 20,000 package includes Rs 11,000 for the Sony CM-DX 1000 and Rs 9,000 for airtime. Highlands to vend Disney wares: Highlands Umbrella has been chosen as the official licensee for Disney raincoats and umbrellas. The products are marketed under the brand names of Futai, Daimaru and Bugachi. The company is also offering a gift pack with the Disney range of raincoats, which includes, a pouch, book labels, a ruler, and a telephone book. The prices are in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 300. Highlands has a network of over 400 dealers in the city. The company has introduced, Dalmatian transparent Umbrellas in the market. For two-year old kids, the company has unique Disney print umbrellas. For school children, umbrellas with colourful disney characters come with whistle on handles.

New Sunsilk offer: A new consumer offer on Hindustan Lever's Ceramides Sunsilk Extra Treatment shampoo. With every 200 ml, a 100 gm Pond's dreamflower magic is offered free. Similarly, on the purchase of a 100 ml Ceramides Sunsilk, a 50 gm Pond's magic will flow free.

Ship-shop convenience: Holidaymakers abroad Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) can shop as much as they want at swanky outlets on the ship without worrying about payment. For the convenience of its passengers, RCCL has introduced a `SuperCharge' signing system. All the passengers are given a validated passenger cruise card which enables them to charge all the on-board purchases to the card. The SuperCharge charges can be billed automatically to most major credit cards, allowing for fast and convenient disembarkation.

AI tickles the palate: Air india is introducing upgraded, course-by-course meal service procedures for its First & Executive class passengers. For the breakfast service which was hitherto being served on a pre-set tray, the first class passengers table will now be laid individually before impressively decked trolleys carrying fresh fruit, complete with choice of cereals. Entrees and beverages will roll up by his side for him to make his own selection. The menu has also been revised to offer a wider selection for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian passengers.

Freebie from Qantas: The Australian airline Qantas has introduced an innovative scheme in celebration of the completion of one year of operations in India. A passenger flying to Australia on an excursion fare can now buy two tickets for the price of one. The ticket has to be purchased between July 1 and July 10, 1997. Passengers may depart Mumbai anytime before September 30, 1997 and complete the excursion by October 1997.

El Al Israel Airways' new fare: Travel for passengers flying El Al Israel Airways might be full of fun and excitement from now on. There are a variety of entertainment programmes especially designed for them.They can either enjoy a wide range of music like classical, pop songs, folk and traditional music on a number of channels, or keep themselves abreast of Israel, through `High Time', the exclusive El Al video programme.

BITS unveils learning module: Bureau of Information Technology Services (BITS) has launched its new curriculum, Define, an industry-oriented, career-friendly modular software learning course. It is a modular pattern of obtaining certificates and diplomas a after the student accumulates a pre-defined number of credit points. It is based on the American method of studies. The curriculum consists of two semesters, followed by two modules. These comprise client- server architecture, along with visual front-end tools.

Indian Airlines agents awarded: Indian Airlines (IA) has presented special awards to travel and cargo agents operating from Mumbai for their contribution in increasing the airline's revenue. IA regional director (western region) PS Shetty said revenue from the region stood at Rs 1,140 crore to the total of Rs 2,850 crore. This was Rs 150 crore, more than the target, he said adding that it was possible due to the support given by the travel agents for promotion of Indian Airlines. In the region, Indian Airlines has over 400 travel passenger agents and 70 cargo agents of which 214 passenger agents and 50 cargo agents operate in Mumbai, he said.Pantene to nourish more: Pantene, the shampoo from the Procter & Gamble stable, now comes with an additional ingredient, Essence of Oil. Rich with Pro-vitamin B5 which is said to nourish hair from root to tip. The new Essence of Oil is said to give a protective coating for the hair.

Powertel to market Ramp Networks' devices: Bangalore-based Powertel Boca has tied up with Ramp Networks of USA for an exclusive marketing, distributing and supporting Ramp Network products in south-Asia. Powertel Boca will shortly launch the Webramp m3 Internet access device, an integrated analogue route Ethernet hub, which can be connected up to three external modems and allows multiple users on local area network.
