Mico-Bosch plans fuel injection unit in Rajasthan

JAIPUR, July 10: Mico-Bosch, the $33-billion German giant, is planning to set up a Rs 250-crore project at Sitapura near here to manufacture fuel injection pumps, which could be used for petrol and diesel. The company enjoys a global monopoly in the segment. Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (Riico) sources said the pumps would meet the new vehicle emission norms and help increase fuel efficiency. Mico-Bosch's proposal to invest Rs 250 crore in Rajasthan came up for discussion at a recent meeting between state deputy chief minister HS Bhabhra and the German giant's chairman Hubert Zimmerer. Mico-Bosch Klaus Krieger was also present at the meeting. Bhabhra, on a visit to Germany, said his meeting with Zimmerer was satisfying. The deputy chief minister extended his government's cooperation. The German company was keen on increasing its business in Rajasthan. Riico has earmarked 50 acres of land for the project at Sitapura, a new industrial area, drawing worldwide attention. More auto-ancillary projects at Sitapura are welcome, said Riico managing director GS Sandhu.Bosch's capital structure is unique. In all, 93 per cent of its equity is held for `charitable purposes'.
