ABU DHABI, July 13: ICO Global Communications said on Sundaysaid it had signed a multi-year agreement worth $33 million with the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) to operate one of its 12 global satellite access nodes (SANs).

``Etisalat will provide site infrastructure and operate the SANs which will be built in Dubai. Construction will begin in July, 1997,'' ICO, a London-based global satellite communications company, said in a statement. ICO was set up by 47 investors worldwide in 1995 to develop the International Mobile Satellite Organisation's (Inmarsat) satellite-based mobile telephone system.
