Centre asks RBI to evolve insurance cover for finance firms'

[Details] The Union finance ministry has shifted the onus of formulating an insurance scheme for public deposits in non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) to the Reserve Bank (RBI). Insurance of deposits held by finance companies has been included as one of the terms of reference of the Sheri Committee.

Ministry to set up panel for power plant update

[Details] The Union power ministry will soon constitute a committee to look into the implementation of the renovation and modernisation (R&M) programmes for power stations. An in-principle go-ahead to set up this committee has been given by the nodal ministry and formal discussions on its exact role will take place at a meeting on July 15.
