SEBI, bourses to work out closing price formula for illiquid stocks

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and stock exchanges have launched an exercise to determine the computation of the previous closing price in case of stocks which have not been traded for a reasonably long period of time.

ICSE to boast of low operating costs

The Inter-Connected Stock Exchange of India Ltd (ICSE) being floated by 12 regional stock exchanges is expected to be the most cost-effective among all the exchanges in the country. It is likely to boast of low operating cost of Rs 15.50 for every one lakh rupees turnover for the fiscal 1998-99.

BSE bids goodbye to daily opening sessions

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has done away with the practice of conducting a daily opening session before the commencement of trading. The opening session, which lasts for half an hour, is carried out at most of the exchanges to absorb the developments of the previous day and thereby stabilise price movements before trading commences.
