City trade body paper calls for recast of public sector unit

The Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) has brought out a white paper on "Initiatives to improve public sector enterprises," which speaks of restructuring of public sector units (PSUs).

Ready-made garment exports decline

Barring the United States, there has been a fall in the unit value realisation from exports of ready-made garments to other countries during the first half of 1997 compared with the same period last year, according to provisional figures available with the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).
