DGCA to get more teeth to deal with erring airlines

[Details] The civil aviation ministry is considering a proposal to give more teeth to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to deal with erring airlines violating safety norms.

Indian air traffic growth at a low ebb

[Details] India is placed at seventh position amongst 15 Asian countries in terms of future growth in air travel, with air traffic to and from the country slated to grow at 7.2% annually till the year 2010.

Cabinet panel plans core meet on July 30
