Time-table for issue of VDIS certificates likely

The government might come out with an administrative time limit regarding the issuance of certificates to potential declarants under the voluntary disclosure of income scheme, 1997 (VDIS), the director (investigation) of Income Tax (West Bengal) UP Singh said.

EOUs poised for 13 per cent growth in 97-98

Export-oriented units (EOUs) are set to post a growth of 12% to 13% in 1997-98, the Confederation of Export Units (CEU) said. The growth rate of the units has been more than double India's growth rate in 1995-96 and approximately thrice the country's growth in 1996-97.
