ICI to shun bulk chemicals, zero in on regional strengths
ICI India Ltd will move away from bulk industrial chemicals and focus on "light effect" chemicals in line with its British parent's global strategy, but will continue in businesses that are `regional' strengths, managing director Aditya Narayan said.

UPSEB to pick 10% stake in eight naphtha-based projects
In a bid to expedite implementation of eight languishing nahptha-based power projects, Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board has offered to pick up at least 10% equity in the projects. The projects will be executed by independent power producers (IPPs) which will collectively generate an additional 1,055 mw for the state.
Coffee futures panel to float company
The coffee futures contract panel has decided to constitute a company with an initial corpus of Rs 1 crore, According to convenor of the panel Ashwin J Shah. He added that this was the first step towards setting up of a domestic futures exchange akin to the one prevailing at London.
