MUMBAI, August 15: Tata companies will launch `India - The Awakening', a five-minute capsule to celebrate the achievements of Indian people, NGOs, movements, institutions, corporates and all those who have contributed to making modern India what it is - a success story of talent, enterprise and hardwork. India -The Awakening is slated for telecast from August 18, 1997 on Doordarshan's national network at 9.20 pm every week night and subsequently on Metro, DD3 and DD international channel.The programme will be sponsored by Tata Steel. Leela offers 50% discount at restaurants: To commemorate 50 years of Independence, The Leela is offering a 50 per cent discount at all its restaurants on August 16 and 17. The restaurants include the Italian restaurant-Fiorella, Orchid Lounge, Indian Harvest and Waterfall Cafe, the Chinese restaurant. As a special gesture, The Leela will dedicate one table at each of its outlets to the CRY (Child Development and You). All the proceeds from these tables will be donated to CRY. This apart, The Leela will also offer a movie in the afternoon or surfing the Net at leisure. So at any time in the day, if one walks into The Leela, there is something on -- all at a 50 per cent discount. Boeing upgrades on-line information: Boeing has upgraded its on-line maintenance information service, setting the stage for future `one-stop shopping'. Boeing On-Line Data (BOLD) provides direct access to Boeing databases containing digitised technical drawings, service bulletins, Boeing component maintenance manuals and specifications for parts and materials.
