Indian stock brokers may soon come under the ambit of a common code of ethics, if the Federation of Indian Stock Exchanges (FISE) has its way. FISE has set up a panel headed by the Bangalore Stock Exchange (BgSE) to work out the modalities of such a code.

Volumes in BPL Ltd have shot up from a few thousand to 2,61,000 after Harshad Mehta recommended the scrip in early July through his Internet site. The price has soared from Rs 42.50 on June 27 to Rs 101.50 on August 14.
