Iraqi crude exports in full swing

Baghdad, Aug 17: A third supertanker laden with Iraqi crude left the Turkish port of Ceyhan on Sunday, the official Iraqi news agency INA said.``The oil tanker Landsort left Ceyhan this morning laden with two million barrels of Iraqi crude bought by French Total," INA said in a dispatch from Ankara.

Iraq resumed limited oil exports on Wednesday under the second phase of an oil-for-food deal agreed with the United Nations.

The oil pact, which allows Iraq to sell $2 billion worth of oil over six months, went into effect last December and was renewed for another six months on June 8. But Iraq delayed exports for the second phase until last week, while it modified its aid distribution plans.

INA said two other super tankers, Arcadia and New Horizon, had earlier left the port loaded with two million barrels and one million barrels of Iraqi crude respectively.
