Ratan Tata rejects resignation offer of two directors

Two directors on the board of Tata Sons, the holding company and think-tank of the Tata group, have expressed a desire to step down. The two are Darbari Seth, chairman emeritus of Tata Chemicals, and SA Sabavala.

The South Korea-based Samsung will soon expand its operations in India by opening more assembling plants for colour televisions and refrigerators and launching semi-conductors in the country.

PFC to fund a third of MSEB's Kaperkheda expansion project

The Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has agreed to provide Rs 450 crore to the Maharashtra State Electricity board to part-fund the expansions of the 420 mw power project in Kaperkheda, Maharashtra. MSEB is doubling capacity of the project by setting up two units of 210 mw each.
