Marketplace Briefing --Lerros unveils wrinkle-free trousers

MUMBAI, October 6: Lerros, the European leisure wear major has launched its international range of wrinkle-free trousers in the country. These trousers are made of 100 per cent cotton twill fabric. The trousers have been given a permanent press and a special finish through the unique `softel process' which allows the garment to be free from wrinkling when worn, and does not degrade the strength of the garment like the other available permanent press finishes. Priced at Rs 995, Lerros is available in shades of blue, black, beige and off-white. This `All-time-wear' collection with its throughout the day fresh look, are available at various locations at Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The Lerros collection available in the country consists of shirts, T-shirts, trousers, shorts and vests. Scholastic Corp to begin operations: US-based Scholastic Corporation, a publisher of children's books, is starting operations through a book fair in the Capital. The fair, which will also have meet-the-author/ illustrator programmes, theatre workshops and puppet shows, will offer the children in-house publications along with books from other leading publishing houses, Scholastic India (Pvt) Ltd's Paresh Malakar said. The 5-day fair, starting at the National Science Centre from October 8, will also have professional books for educators and parents, Malakar said. During the fair, authors Dronvir Kohli, Swapan Dutta and Subhadra Sengupta, and illustrators Atanu Roy and Jagdish Joshi will interact with book enthusiasts. JT Mobiles special scheme: JT Mobiles has drawn up a special scheme to popularise cellular phones among fishermen in deep seas. The scheme to convince people about the advantages of cellular phones will also include truck drivers on national highways or executives flying in mid-skies, according to the vice-president of JT Mobiles, KS Reddy. He said the company had provided 15 handsets of cellular phones to the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) during a fire at its refinery in Visakhapatnam last month. JT Mobiles, is one of the largest cellular operators in the country. Tata Donnelley releases Exporters pages: Tata Donnelley, the country's largest and foremost printing and publishing house, has released the second edition of the Tata Press Exporters pages in keeping with their planned schedule. This directory is a comprehensive compilation of registered domestic exporters and comprises information on over 26,000 exporters all over the sub-continent. The striking feature about the directory is its layout and the usage of a multi-lingual index-English, French, German and Spanish. An aggregate of over 60,000 copies of the `Tata Press Exporters' pages' is being distributed free of cost to importers worldwide who have been identified after an extensive research to suit Indian products. Emirates mobile phone rentals: Emirates passengers travelling to the United Kingdom from any destination in the airline's network, can now enjoy the complimentary rental of mobile phones for up to 28 days. The airline is the first in the world to offer such a service to passengers in all three classes, including those in economy class. Emirates' mobile phone service is offered in association with UK's Rent-A-Phone Ltd. This will be useful to those passengers who need to keep in touch with families, friends and business associates while away from home. All the passenger has to pay is a nominal insurance charge and the costs of their calls, which are deducted from their credit card authorisations. y
