Calcutta, November 2: Indian Airlines will operate 14 Airbus A300 and 14 Airbus A320 direct flights between Calcutta and Mumbai a week. The morning flight, IC 676, will leave earlier at 0630 hrs and the evening one, IC 273, will leave at 1845 hrs.

It has also announced the extension of its Yangon flight to Singapore in its winter schedule effective November 3, 1997. The timings and days of operation of some flights have also been changed. The Calcutta-Yangon flights will be extended to Singapore on Tuesdays and Saturdays. IC 727 will leave Calcutta at 1320 hrs to reach Yangon at 1605 hrs (local time), leave Yangon at 1655 hrs to reach Singapore at 2120 hrs. The incoming flight IC 728 on the Singapore-Yangon-Calcutta sector will arrive at Calcutta on Wednesdays and Sundays at 1000 hrs.

In addition, a direct flight will operate between Calcutta and Singapore once a week. IC 755 will leave Calcutta on Thursdays at 1450 hrs to reach Singapore at 2120 hrs local time. The return flight IC 756 on Fridays will leave Singapore at 0705 hrs local time to reach Calcutta at 0830 hrs.In the domestic sector, the thrice-a-week hopping flight IC 715 to Mumbai via Jaipur and Ahmedabad on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will leave Calcutta at 1620 hrs. The incoming flight IC 716 will arrive Calcutta early at 2050 hrs.

The evening flight IC 402 to Delhi will leave Calcutta at 1945 hrs instead of 1715 hrs at present. The twice-weekly IC 856 will now operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays leaving Calcutta at 1545 hrs.Flights from Calcutta to Hyderabad will leave at 1815 hrs operating via Bhubaneswar on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and via Nagpur on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The corresponding incoming flights will arrive Calcutta in the morning at 0910 hrs.In addition to the direct flight to Chennai in the evening, IA will operate a morning A320 flight via Bhubaneswar on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays leaving Calcutta at 1015 hrs. IC 965 will reach Calcutta at 0925 hrs. Also in the international sector, IC 747 to Kathmandu will leave Calcutta at 1000 hrs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to reach the capital of Nepal at 1130 hrs (local time). IC 748 will leave Kathmandu at 1225 hrs local time to reach Calcutta at 1330 hrs.
