Rajasthan Spinning profit spurts to Rs 11.23-cr

NEW DELHI, Nov 4: Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd, flagship of the Rs-1,200 crore LNJ Bhilwara Group, has recorded a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 11.23 crore in the first half of the current fiscal as against Rs 0.88 crore in the corresponding period in 1996-97.

The company's first-half gross profit has risen 79 per cent to Rs 22.20 crore (Rs 14.07 crore). Its gross turnover in the period has risen seven per cent to Rs 220 crore (Rs 206 crore). The company's first-half results was approved by its board of directors on Tuesday. The board also approved the merger of Bhilwara Spinners Ltd with itself.

Company vice chairman and managing director Shekhar Agarwal said the improvement in the company's performance was due to a better mix of products.
