Railway Board caveat over punctuality

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, November 4: The Railway Board has directed the zonal railways to analyse the factors responsible for loss of punctuality on a systematic basis by holding meetings at divisional and zonal levels.

In case of bad runners, the culprit carriage and wagon depos, diesel and electric loco sheds and stations should be identified and remedial action taken against them, an official news release said here on Monday. In the areas like alarm chain pulling, miscreant activity, and agitation, the problems should be tackled in consultation with the state governments wherever necessary and remedial measures taken, it said. The zonal railways have been asked to keep a close watch on the stoppage time of trains at stations.
