BSE depository may offer dematerialisation free

[Details] The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) plans to make its depository cost free for investors who dematerialise their shares. BSE president MG Damani told newspersons on Thursday that the proposed depository is expected to be in place by March 1998.

NSE clearing house pumps Rs 10 crore

[Details] The National Securities Clearing Corporation Ltd (NSCCL) pumped in a record Rs 10 crore to ensure that there was no payment crisis following the market crash on October 28. The funds were brought in to enable those members to meet their payment requirements who could not sell their shares on the last day of the trading cycle on account of several price filters put in place by the exchange.

CSE shortlists errant cos for disciplinary action

[Details] The CSE authorities have decided to penalise companies which have failed to settle pending investor complaints despite several reminders. The deadline set by the exchange for redressal of grievances expired on October 31, 1997. The chief of market operations of the exchange, P K Roy, told The Financial Express that the cases would be placed before the disciplinary action committee at its next meeting in the second week of this month.
