Movers & Shakers -- New country manager for Electrolux India


Ram Ramasundar, market unit director, PepsiCo (India) Holdings Ltd, has been appointed country manager of Electrolux India and managing director of Maharaja International Ltd and Intron Ltd. He will assume responsibility from December 1. Craig Ibsen, currently president of Intron and Maharaja International, will assume key responsibilities in the company's global new markets division. Prior to joining Pepsico five years ago, Ramasundar was with Hindustan Lever and Unilever for 22 years.

Commenting on the new appointment, A B Electrolux senior vice-president Lennart Ribohn said, ``The new appointment is a further step in the development of the company's business interests in India. We are confident that Ramasundar's wealth of experience will be a strong addition to Electrolux's profile in the region.''

Mittal bags award

Lakshmi N Mittal, chairman and chief executive officer of the LNM Group, will receive the eighth Willy Korf Steel Vision Award for outstanding vision, entrepreneurship, leadership and impact in global steel development. The award will be presented to Mittal at the Steel Survival Strategies Conference in June next year, in New York, by the American Metal Market and PaineWebber's World Steel Dynamics. Mittal's LNM Group is among the world's top 10 steel producers and has a liquid steel-making capacity of 14 million metric tonnes.

Sarath executive creative director for MAA Bozell

Ashok Sarath has been appointed executive creative director of MAA Communications Bozell. He will bear all India responsibility for the creative products of MAA Bozell. He was earlier with Ogilvy and Mather, Mumbai, as creative director and has worked on all major accounts of the agency such as Asian Paints, Hindustan Lever, Britannia, Cadbury's, Pond's, Seagram's and Titan Watches.

Headquartered in Bangalore, MAA Communications Bozell has capitalised billings worth over Rs 100 crore and has an all India network with branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad and Pune. The agency has an equity participation with Bozell worldwide, part of the fourth largest, independently owned marketing communications group in the world.
