Chowdhry panel gets 5:3 majority in DSE elections

[Details] The Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE) elections at its 49th annual general meeting witnessed the current president Deepak Chowdhry's panelists winning as many as five posts out of eight in the board. The Ashok Kumar Agarwal panel had to be content with three members on the board.

Silver prices firm up even as gold takes a dip

[Details] Silver prices experienced a hike while gold eased on the bullion market during the week. Silver, of .999 fineness, opened on a firm note at Rs 6805 and on poor stock position due to restricted arrival following rise in dollar rates. It closed higher at Rs 6995, showing a remarkable rally of Rs 195 from Rs 6800.

Sugar, wheat and rice firm up; G'nut oil declines

[Details] Bullish trend has forged further ahead on the sugar market on active demand coupled with drop in supplies. Firm tendency in wheat and rice marked trading on the grains market with pulses ruling steady. Industrial oils improved while groundnut oil declined in a mixed oilseeds market.
