GDR, domestic prices show diverging trends

[Details] The lack of liquidity has caused several GDRs, including GDRs of DCW and HDC, to move in a direction different from movements of their domestic prices. The lack of liquidity arises from the fact that only 30% of the 60 GDRs are liquid. Other factors instrumental in this divergence of trends are the varying market outlooks and investment rationale.

[Details] The first half of the current fiscal has seen 70 companies saving around Rs 128 crore in interest cost alone. The lower interest rates prevalent in this period have helped these companies shore up their performances in a period otherwise marked by rising input costs and slowdown in growth.
