NEW DELHI, November 22: Former prime minister VP Singh on Saturday said the Jain Commission's `indictment' of all Tamils of Tamil Nadu of having a nexus with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) would wreck national unity and described its report as a "rehash of Congress affidavit."

Reacting for the first time on the commission's interim report, Singh said the report had indicted all Tamils as a party to the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. The pronouncement was an attack on national integration, he said.Stating that the report was a rehash of Congress affidavit, Singh said it could have been done six years ago and the nation could have saved money. Singh strongly criticised the report alleging that it lacked several vital aspects pertaining to Rajiv Gandhi's assassination and defended the Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi for the state government's actions with regard to the Tamil militants.
