Frequent travellers can now avail of the bonanza announced by the American Express Travel Related Services recently. The deal offers benefits to all frequent travellers who purchase foreign exchange and travellers cheques from American Express Travel Services offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai. The offer is valid till January 15, 1998. According to Atul Mathur, head of Travel Services Group, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, American Express is offering a free pre-paid Sprint calling card worth up to 5 minutes of international calling to all travellers who purchase foreign exchange worth over $2,000. As a result, these travellers will not have to spend foreign exchange on international calls. As an added attraction, all these customers can participate in the `Tribute to Indian Independence' promotion. And the prizes? Among many others, air tickets to the UK, air-conditioners and microwave ovens. Amex also offers a range of unique services including free automatic flight insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh on a purchase of over $750 in travellers cheques. Competent forex rates and a wide choice of international currencies are some of the other special services offered to these customers.
