Front, Congress brace for showdown in Parliament

[Details] The stage is set for Prime Minister I K Gujral to recommend dissolution of Parliament any time now. An indication to this effect was available on Sunday after the two Left parties -- CPI(M) and CPI -- formally asked Gujral to go for dissolution of the Lok Sabha followed by a snap poll.

Bharat Petroleum-Shell combine opts for site near Allahabad

[Details] Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and its joint venture partner oil major Shell have selected a site near Allahabad for setting up a seven million tonne per annum (MMTPA) refinery in Uttar Pradesh. The project will include a marketing terminal and crude import facilities along the west coast.
