Movers & Shakers -- O'Hare is chief of USIBC
The executive board of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) has elected Dean R O'Hare as chairman of the council for a two-year term beginning June 1998. O'Hare is chairman and chief executive officer of the $25 billion Chubb Corporation. As USIBC chairman, O'Hare will lead the Council's efforts in areas of importance to its members, including financial services, energy and power, telecommunications, broadcasting, infrastructure, intellectual property rights, electronics and software. U K Bose bags award Uttam Kumar Bose of Sahara Airlines received the World Travel Market Global Award 1997 at Earl's Court, the United Kingdom, last week, bringing laurels to the airline in particular and the travel trade in India in general. A release issued here quoted Fiona Jeffery, exhibition director of the World Travel Market, as saying: ``Sahara India Airlines has made innovative steps to upgrade its services in the face of stiff competition. It pioneered tele check-in at both Delhi and Mumbai and will shortly introduce it throughout India.'' The airline, according to the release, is on the threshold of a major expansion programme.
