Appellate authority directs Sahara India to SEBI

[Details] The appellate authority in the Union finance ministry has asked Sahara India Airlines to make a fresh appeal before the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to exempt the company from making an open offer to the shareholders of Indiana Dairy Specialities Ltd for retaining the 26.9% stake in the company arising out of a loan default by Indiana.

[Details] Birla Mutual Fund, which has Rs 750 crore assets under its management, plans to launch an equity-linked savings scheme, Taxplan'98, with an in-built compensation scheme for early investors. The scheme provides income tax rebate of 20% on investments up to Rs 10,000 under Section 88(2) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
