Canon India likely to set up manufacturing base by 1998

[Details] Canon India Pvt Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Canon Inc, is planning to set up a manufacturing base in India by 1998 to make photocopiers. The investment will be around $7.5 million. The company is aiming for a market share of 25% in India by 2010.

Cutfast Abrasives merges with CUMI at 5:1 swap

[Details] The swap ratio for the merger of Cutfast Abrasive Tools Ltd with Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI) has been fixed at 5:1-one share of CUMI for every five shares of Cutfast Abrasives with the merger effective from April 1, 1997. The shares of CUMI were trading at Rs 81 levels while that of Cutfast was changing hands at around Rs 15 on Monday.
