Mangalore Chemicals revival scheme hits another speed breaker

[Details] The problem with the BIFR revival package for Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilisers (MCF), the ailing UB group company, seems to have worsened with the Government of Karnataka asking for a period of two months to consider a proposal made by Kribhco. If the package is found unacceptable, then the state government will consider a proposal by the UB group.

Mobil Peevees plans to set up bottling facility for LPG venture in Chennai

[Details] Mobil Peevees Company Ltd, a joint venture between the oil major Mobil and a Kerala-based NRI group Peevees Ltd, is considering setting up a bottling facility for its LPG venture in Chennai and has identified two possible sites for this purpose. The company is weighing the probability as against acquiring existing plants which are non-operational.

[Details] The western region, comprising Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa, has emerged as the biggest markets for Hero Honda. Last year, close to 75,000 vehicles were sold in this market. This year, the company crossed the 75,000-mark within the first eight months itself. Hero Honda's motorcycle sale is expected to cross the one-lakh mark by the end of this year.
