Sensex skids 33 points on back of dull trading

[Details] The stock market made a strong recovery towards the end of trading after opening on a weak note, on support from local funds and some select purchases by a few foreign funds. Trading was quite dull, however, with the BSE Sensex dropping to a low of 3,549 points. It recovered to touch a high of 3,616 points before settling down to a close of 3608, a 33-point fall over yesterday's close.

NSE members mull legal action over stamp duty issue

[Details] The Association of NSE Members (ANMI) plans to approach the revenue minister if their plea regarding stamp duty payment on all transactions is not heard by the stamp duty office. The association is also contemplating legal action if required.
