Dunlop accepts resignation of finance director

OUR BUREAU
CALCUTTA, December 29: The board of Dunlop India Ltd has accepted the resignation of finance director Kalyan K Chattopadhyay, the tyremaker said in a press communique on Monday. Chattopadhyay, who was a wholetime director in charge of finance, has been relieved of his director's portfolio with immediate effect. However, he will continue to be on the company's rolls till he serves his notice period.

The communique said the board considered Chattopadhyay's resignation at a meeting on December 27, at which it also deliberated on the "poor performance" of the company in the last nine months of the current financial year. The finance team, which presented the company's financials, pointed out to the board that severe restrictions on Dunlop's working capital had led to very poor production at the factories and the consequent dismal financials.
