Osmania varsity all set to host science meet

Hyderabad, Dec 29: The Osmania University is all spruced up to host the single largest gathering of professional and academic scientists with the 85th session of the Indian Science Congress slated to be inaugurated by prime minister IK Gujral here on Saturday.Over 4,000 scientists from all over the world will be in the city to deliberate on Science and Technology in Independent India -- Retrospect and Prospect, which is the focal theme for this year's science congress. It will have seven plenary sessions and three special lectures which will feature virtually the who-is-who of the Indian science. The speakers include MRC Greenwood and CKN Patel from the University of California, Roald Hoffman, the 1971 Nobel Laureate in chemistry, Morris Rossen advisor IAEA, BB Rath associate director of research at the US Naval Reserach Laboratory.
