retaining the top slot in liquor exports for the sixth year in succession. The company was conferred the top exporter award by the union commerce ministry for its record export turnover of $3 million. The company has been working on new ways of brand marketing to overcome the ban on mass media marketing of liquor products imposed by many state governments. It has also beefed up its distribution network in the middle-east where its sales volume is 2.41 lakh cases.

L'Oreal signs contract with Diana: L'Oreal, the world's number one cosmetics group, has signed an exclusive worldwide three-year contract with India's Diana Hayden, the reigning Miss World. L'Oreal is present in India with its brands Laboratories Garnier Paris and Excellence Creme hair colours. The company already has international beauties like Claudia Schiffer, Andie MacDowell, Vanessa Williams and Nastassja Kinski representing its brands worldwide. Hayden would be the first Indian face to represent L'Oreal's brands internationally. Of course, her contract would be leveraged to the maximum in L'Oreal's efforts to grow its business in India.
