Maxworth Orchards companies change hands
The Chennai-based Maxworth Orchards (India) and Maxworth Orchards (International), ailing flagships of the Maxworth group, have been reportedly taken over by a team of three entrepreneurs led by KG Krishnaswamy of Chitoor. The new management, which took over the company last week, is in the process of examining the company's credit position.

Honda Siel denies plans for small car
Honda Siel Cars India (HSCIL) is not planning to introduce a small car in the local market in the near future, according to company president and CEO Teruo Fujisaki. The company plans to take a long-term view and then decide on the issue. "Our first priority is to sell Honda City," Fujisaki said.

Fair, Issac & Company in talks with TCS to set up joint venture
Fair, Isaac & Company Inc (FIC), one of the largest credit assessment firms in the United States, is scouting for a partner to set up a 50:50 joint venture in India. The company has already had a dialogue with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for a possible tie-up and is expected to meet with officials of HCL next week in New Delhi for discussions on the proposed joint venture.

Rediffusion to build Novartis local image
Swiss life sciences giant, Novartis, has entrusted leading ad-agency, Rediffusion Dentsu, Young & Rubicam, with the task of establishing the group's identity in the country. The corporate ad campaign, which was kicked off towards the end of 1997, is expected to continue till July 1998.
