Cisco Systems, Fujitsu to share multimedia technology

NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Cisco Systems, one of the leading IT companies for networking on Internet, and Fujitsu have signed a global systems integrator agreement where the latter would sell and support the former's products worldwide. The two companies will also cooperate to provide optimum end to end solutions to the market, focusing on the rapidly expanding worldwide demand for network computing.

Fujitsu and Cisco have agreed to cooperate in securing interoperability between both companies network management software.

The two will investigate directions for future collaboration, including closer links between products, cooperation in networking and multimedia technology, expansion of networked computing and formulation of standards, a Cisco India release said.

Fujitsu is an international leader in information technology, telecommunications, semiconductors and other electronic devices. Its revenue in fiscal 1997 was $37 billion, the release said.

Cisco systems claims to be the worldwide leader innetworking for the internet. Cisco customers in Asia include VSNL, ADB AND Korea Telecom among others.
